Singer Mzbel is fiercely opposed to free SHS policy of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Close to 800,000 junior and senior high school students are said to be beneficiaries of free education policy from the state.
The beneficiaries ‘first batch, popularly known as “Akufo-Addo graduates’, are currently having their final year exams and are getting ready to start their BECE with those at the JHS.
The government described the program as one of the strongest measures to solidify the education system in Ghana, but Mzbel argued differently.
In an interview on “Entertainment Review” by Peace FM, Mzbel reported that since the free SHS came into being, she has paid much more than school fees.
While acknowledging that her family has benefited from free education by the government, Mzbel strongly believes however that it is not a positive initiative, adding that the program has several complications.
