In the December 2020 elections, Ghanaian Reggae Musician and Radio Presenter Blakk Rasta has indicated that the Coronavirus pandemic and its consequences may be a drawback for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the pandemic has ‘stalled’ many of the President’s development initiatives and as such has prompted voters to look for ‘newer faces’ in the forthcoming elections
He made these claims in an interview on the series ‘Ayekoo After Drive’ with Happy FM’s DJ Advisor.
“This is the worst time for becoming a president in this pandemic era. Nana Addo has done everything he can to contain the virus in his own capacity. But everything that he does people will always complain. Men are weeping. This is not an easy mission. Free hot food and how many millions are people asking?
Many of the proposals that he had when he came to power have all stalled. One Village One Dam, one warehouse, etc. How do you do that in this age of Corona? It has broken everything up. But people are looking to be able to do that for younger and newer names. I’ll be surprised if Nana Addo wins this election. The hitmaker Barack Obama acknowledged, however, that Ghana ‘s President is not alone in this dilemma.
He says, “And he’s not alone in this Coronavirus, all the other presidents didn’t help them. It’s sad.’ The coronavirus, which originated late last year in a Chinese seafood and poultry market, has spread to at least 177 countries, killing more people and infecting several more in a matter of months. Earlier this year the World Health Organization declared the situation a pandemic.
