“I didn’t discover my talent others did for me” – Lekzy DeComic reveals

To discover one’s talent in the creative art industry is a big step toward becoming a good creative art individual within the industry.

But many of our celebrated creatives had to be persuaded in most cases to pursue their respective careers. We had a talk with Lekzy Decomic over the weekend to tell us about his journey, how he got into the comedy industry and how he became a favorite of Ghanaians.

Raised Nana Kwame Ansong Nkansah is an award-winning comedian who has been thrilled to rib-cracking jokes by Ghanaians over the years. However, in an interview with TheUrbanAfrica, the comedian revealed that a friend who persuaded him to pick comedy as a career had discovered his talent.

“I haven’t discovered the talent that others did for me,” he replied asking the question “when did you discover your talent? “His friend noticed his funny talent back at high school and convinced him to pursue it as a career, according to the comedian.

Feeling reluctant, the persuasion went on to tertiary, where he eventually succumbed and began and today he is one of the country ‘s famous entertainers. “I had a friend named Richard Djanie, he saw what I had, and he moved me from middle school to high school,” he said.

Lekzy DeComic is the host of LaughLine, one of the country’s longest-running comedy shows.

Signed under Kasa Entertainment, the comedian has performed at every major comedy platform in the country.
